After riding for 9 months and 32290 km, Vyacheslav Stoyanov is on his final run of his trip around Mediterranean Sea. On 14th of November he is planning to end his journey in front of Saint Sofia church in Turkey – the place that marked the beginning on 1st of February. The program for the last days is as follows:

The traveller Volodya Sorokin has just reached Florida. He started in the beginning of the month his 14 000 km journey from Washington DC to Alaska with bicycle Drag Cruizer and is expected to end the trip in May 2011. Gallery

The young Macedonian racer KostadinPetrov, who’s riding Drag Bluebird, won the first place in the overall ranking in Cadets category for 2010 in Macedonia. He took the gold medal in three of the competition for the season – in Kochani, Veles and Kumanovo. That gave him the leading result of 116 points and the top place in the overall ranking. Gallery

For the 7th consecutive year Drag organized Cherni Vrah( Black Mount) Race and participants from all over the country and all ages took part in. The competition starts in Boiana, District of Sofia , 750 m above sea level. All participants should climb to Cherni Vrah (2290 m above sea level and the highest point of Vitosha Mountain) and then get back down to Boiana.
The fastest climber turned out to be Alexander Genov with time of 2.21:10 h, while Fiodor Dragolov was the fastest in the overall ranking (ascend and descent) with time of 3.14:40 h .
Fiodor won the gold medal for Veterans and broke his own records.
The fastest down the mountain was Nikolai Petkov who took the distance for 1.01 h.
Up on Mt.Cherni Vrah Alexander arrived for 12 min and 11 sec - faster than Fiodor, while Fiodor was better in down hilling and crossed the finish line 5 min earlier than Alexander.
124 persons from all over the country and all ages took part in this competition.

This year “Velomania” participated in the International Plovdiv Fair and received a gold medal for its electric bike Drag Emotion in category “Transport”. The e-bike has a built in drive system that helps the rider, using an electric motor, integrated in the front hub. All kinds of systems for safety and easy control are provided and all European Union standards are taken into consideration. This makes it very ergonomic, ecologic and comfort vehicle for the city.

The championship took place in the new Borovetc Bike Park that very quickly became a favorite place for riders from all over Bulgaria. On the trails of the park 150 Bulgarian and few foreign racers put great effort to grab the gold medal, but only few succeeded. The three days of the race (24-26 th of September) were very intense for the riders of Drag Racing Team, but that did not stopped them from winning the first places and once more showing who is the best in downhill. Rosen Kovachev was the only one that took the course for under 4 minutes and with that achievement he won the gold medal in DH Men Category. Second with a bad fall finished Dimitar Gaidov from Ram Bikes and the third place remained for Alexander Iliev from Ram Bikes too. Read more »

On 2^nd of September 2010 starting from the head office of National Geographic in Washington the world traveler Volodia Sorokin begins a new stage from his world trip by bicycle. Starting from the capital of America – Washington D.C. he will ride through the cities of Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angelis, San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver (Canada) and will finish in Anchorage Alaska in the end of May 2011 with a Bulgarian bicycle Drag Cruiser build by Velomania in Sofia, Bulgaria.

22^nd of September was celebrated again as the European Day without Cars.
This time there was not only a bicycle procession, but also a test drive organized by Velomania for everyone, who wanted to try a nice and different type of eco transport. The main attention was focused on Drag Emotion (the electric bike of the company). Gallery

Excited by the Drag bikes at the 2010 Eurobike Show and the achievements of the company in international aspects the polish site E-Biker zone published for its readers a short summary for the most attractive Drag models. Here is some of the report:

“Five racers of the female team of Ukraine won medals from the European championship in the senior Cadets category (under age of 23) in Ankara from 15th to 18th of July.
Anna Solovei won the individual case on distance 13.5 km with time of 17:42 minutes. She finished with lead of more than half a minute.
And why we are writing about that? Because all these racers ride with bikes of the unknown for Poland brand called Drag. And what is it?
Drag is a brand of the Bulgarian company Velomania. Not known in Poland, but, as you see in the lines above, a company with a lot of achievements in international aspect. At Eurobike 2010 we had the chance to see and speak about some of their bicycles and here are some of them, that we liked most.

Eurobike 2010 – the biggest bicycle exhibition in Europe, took place from 1^st to 4^th of September and Drag introduced its new 2011 models at its own booth. For the first time were exhibited the All Mountain model Nduro, the city bike Cruiser, some new modifications of Black Pearl, the Drag Racing models and the new Dirt Jump model Junk with its final set of components for 2011.

Drag e- bike with the entirely new Shimano’s e-bike components draw the attention of the international visitors.

The Eurobike show started back in 1991 and turned into a significant cyclists annual event, that is held in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Nowadays it is now the biggest international bike show on the old continent. Read more »
