Wouter Cleppe won “Drag - Cherni vrah 2009″
For the first time in our annual “DRAG - Cherni vrah” race (climbing up and down the highest point of Vitosha mountain) the winner this year is a foreign racer – this is Wouter Cleppe from Belgium, who lives in Bulgaria now for a few years with his wife and daughter. His score – 2:51:52h. for the 42 km to the top and back – is a record for all the six issues of the competition. Todor Angelov from the Drag Team won the last issue of 100km tour around the Vitosha mountain. In a cold and rainy conditions he finished first after 5:03h. Second, 27min. after Angelov finished Stanimir Statev, and the third place took other Drag racer - Feodor Dragolov, with 5:47h.
The young Austrian Reinhard Zach realize over 2500km trip through Europe, after he got his Drag Grand Canyon this summer. The tour begins in Sofia, from where he goes first to Istanbul, then took the ferry to Odessa. From Odessa through Ukraine with his bike he goes to Budapest. Then to Austria, through Vienna, he reaches Linz. And than he wrote a letter and send us pictures from this trip with his Drag bicycle.

This weekend is going to offer some exclusive opportunities: a test drive of Drag Black Hawk and another 2010 prototype bike on the Dragalevci Trails, half-priced lift passes from the shops of Velomania and for the fans – a possibility to test the new race trail that is finally separated from the tourist ones.The new track is a result of big efforts and a lot of negotiations with the directors of Nature Park “Vitosha”. The initiative aims to separate the tourist routes from the bicycle ones and there to be no confrontations between riders and tourists. That’s why there are some new rules to be set down for the usage of the trails. In future the is a plan some small wooden bridges and north shores to be made so that the routes won’t cross each other. There is still a long way to walk before everything is finished, but the first results are here and more are to come during the Spring of 2010. A group will be organized to make the new trails and infrastructure.
Rosen Kovachev, Dimitar Bakalov and Martin Markov won the top three places in the Elite category of the downhill race near Skopje, Macedonia.
